- The name, the names of companies, universities and schools, email, phone, links, software names (Excel, SAP, Python) and certification acronyms.
- Not summarised
- The tool is set up to keep every job, bullet point and date, without summarising. Still, compare the result with the Romanian CV before downloading.

- The tool translates what the CV contains. If it lists a CNP (personal numeric code), date of birth, marital status or nationality, these are translated as they are — delete them in the editor before applying in the UK or the US.
Romanian CV vs. US resume vs. UK CV
An English CV is not only a different language — the personal details and format change too. These are the most common conventions.

These are general conventions, not rules — if the job ad asks for something else, follow the ad. Write months as words: 03/04/2025 is 3 April in Romania and March 4 in the US. From Moldova? Use the +373 country code.
How to write Romanian qualifications in English
Degree names are what gets mistranslated most. Keep the university name in Romanian and explain the qualification in English.
- Diplomă de bacalaureat
- "High school diploma (Romanian Baccalaureate)" — not a "Bachelor's degree", which is a university degree.
- Școală postliceală
- "Post-secondary vocational diploma" with the field: "Post-secondary vocational diploma in Nursing".
- Licență
- Bachelor's degree (3–4 years), with the field and university: "Bachelor's degree in Economics, Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai". Never "licence".
- Lucrare de licență
- "Bachelor's thesis", with its title if it is relevant to the job.
- Master, doctorat
- Master's degree, with the field ("Master's degree in Finance"); a doctorat is a PhD.
- Media (1–10)
- Do not convert it to a GPA yourself: write "Final grade: 9.50/10". For an official equivalence, use a credential evaluation service such as WES (US and Canada) or UK ENIC (UK).

How do I translate my CV from Romanian to English?

Is this a certified translation?
No. MyEasyCV writes the CV in English for job applications, where employers expect a normal CV. Diplomas and documents for visas or public bodies need a certified translation (in Romanian, "traducere autorizată").
Should the CNP stay on the CV?
No. The CNP (Romanian personal numeric code) has no place on a UK or US CV, and the date of birth and marital status are usually left out too. The tool does not remove them automatically — delete them in the editor.
What is a "licență" in English?
A Bachelor's degree: "diplomă de licență în Economie" becomes "Bachelor's degree in Economics". Not "licence", which in English means a permit.
How do I write a Romanian grade such as 9,50?
Romanian grades run from 1 to 10, so write "Final grade: 9.50/10" — with a decimal point, not a comma. Do not convert it to a GPA yourself; for an official equivalence, use a service such as WES (US and Canada) or UK ENIC (UK).
American or British English?
Use the one of the country you apply in: British for the UK and Ireland (organise, centre), American for the US (organize, center). Ask for it in Additional Notes and check it in the editor.
