In short: To translate a CV from Arabic to English with MyEasyCV, you upload your Arabic CV (PDF, DOC, DOCX or TXT, up to 5 pages), choose English as the CV language and a design, and get the English version in about a minute. Your summary, job titles, duties, skills and degrees are translated; names of people, companies and universities and your contact details are not. You then review it, remove what US and UK employers do not expect (photo, date of birth, marital status, religion, ID number) and download a PDF. Creating and previewing your first CV is free with an account; the clean PDF without watermark is paid.

How to translate your CV from Arabic to English in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Upload your Arabic CV

Your CV as PDF, DOC, DOCX or TXT (up to 10 MB and 5 pages). Made it in Canva? Download it as a PDF; photos of a CV are not accepted. The right-to-left layout does not matter: the content is read and laid out again.

  2. 2

    Choose English and a design

From this page, English is already selected as the CV language. Pick one of 25+ templates. The photo is optional: leave it out and the CV has none. In the optional note you can ask for “American English” or “British English”, or give your passport name spelling.

  3. 3

    Review, edit and download

Read the English version, edit any line, delete the personal details the job does not need, and download the PDF.

What gets translated and what stays the same

Translated
Career objective or summary, job titles, duties and achievements, skills, degrees and majors, courses, projects, volunteering and custom sections.
Not translated
Your name, the names of companies, universities and institutes, your email, phone, links, software names (Excel, SAP, Python) and certification acronyms (PMP, CMA, IELTS). Names written in Arabic script stay in Arabic script — retype them in the editor in Latin letters, as in your passport or the university's official English name.
Not summarised
The tool is set up to keep every job, bullet point and date of the original. Still, compare the result with your CV before downloading.
Checked by you
The tool translates what your CV contains, so delete your date of birth, marital status, religion and ID number before applying in the US or the UK — and keep what a Gulf employer asks for.

Arabic CV vs. US resume vs. UK CV

An English CV changes more than the language: personal details and format change too.

General conventions, not rules — if the job ad asks for something else, follow the ad. In the Gulf, many employers expect nationality, visa or iqama status and sometimes a photo even on an English CV, so keep them if asked. Use Gregorian dates and write months as words: 03/04/2025 means March 4 in the US.

How to write Arab degrees and grades in English

Degree names are mistranslated most often. Use your university's official English name (on its website or your diploma) and explain the qualification.

Thanawiya Amma / Tawjihi
High school diploma (General Secondary Certificate). Usually left out once you have a degree.
Baccalauréat (Maghreb, Syria, Lebanon)
A high school diploma, not a Bachelor's: write “Baccalaureate (high school diploma)”. “Bachelor” means a university degree.
Diploma (دبلوم)
Give the field and length: “Diploma in Accounting (2 years)”, and say whether it follows high school or a bachelor's (Postgraduate Diploma).
Bakalorius / Licence
Bachelor's degree with the major: “Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering”, “Bachelor of Laws (LLB)”. A Maghreb Licence: “Bachelor's degree (Licence, 3 years)”.
Majistir / Master
Master's degree: “Master of Business Administration (MBA)” or “Master of Science”. Doctorate: PhD.
Grade (التقدير)
Excellent, Very Good, Good or Pass, with the average from your transcript: “GPA 3.6/4.0” or “85%”. Do not convert it to a US GPA yourself; for an official equivalence use WES (US, Canada) or UK ENIC (UK).

Translate an English CV into Arabic

Applying to a government body or local company that wants an Arabic CV, or moving back home? Upload your English CV and choose Arabic as the CV language.

Personal details
Arab employers often expect nationality and marital status, Gulf employers also visa status, and many a photo. Add the photo and write extra details in the optional note.
Names
Foreign company and university names stay in English, which is normal on an Arabic CV; ask for your own name in Arabic in the note or edit it.

Arabic to English CV translation: FAQ

How do I translate my CV from Arabic to English?

Upload your Arabic CV, choose English as the CV language and a design, and the English version is ready in about a minute. Review it, remove personal details your target employer does not expect, and download the PDF.

Is it free?

Your first CV is free to create and preview with an account, no card needed. The clean PDF without watermark is part of the One-Time Package (one payment; price depends on your country) or the Pro Plan.

Is it better than Google Translate?

A general translator converts the document as it is, and right-to-left layouts often break. MyEasyCV writes your CV's content in English in a clean, editable template. Either way, read the result before sending.

Is this a certified translation?

No. MyEasyCV writes your CV in English for job applications. Diplomas and documents for visas, degree recognition or authorities need a certified translation.

How should I spell my Arabic name?

Names are not translated, so check that yours appears in Latin letters. Use your passport spelling (Mohammed or Mohamed, not both), usually first and family name only. Give it in the optional note or fix it in the editor.

Should I remove nationality and photo for Gulf jobs?

Not necessarily. Many Gulf employers expect nationality, visa status and sometimes a photo, even on an English CV. For the US and the UK, leave them out. The photo is optional in MyEasyCV and every line is editable.

American or British English?

Match the country: American for the US (organize, center), British for the UK (organise, centre). In the Gulf both are common; just be consistent.

Will my university and company names be translated?

No. Use the official English name, as on the website or your diploma (Cairo University, King Saud University), so employers can verify it.

Can I translate my CV from English to Arabic?

Yes. Upload your English CV, choose Arabic as the CV language and a design, and edit the result before you download it. The same rule applies: the first CV is free to create and preview; the clean PDF without watermark is paid.

Your experience is the same in any language. Make sure it reads well in English.

Upload your Arabic CV — the first English version is free to create and preview.
